bactrack: pompeii, august '06

i can't wait to go back to pompeii one day. it was incredible, beautiful and so much larger than i expected. we didn't even see it all.

i had wanted to see this since childhood. talk about a dream come true. it was amazingly well preserved for a town decimated by a volcano. maybe some day i'll post more pictures. i have hundreds. these are just some of my favorites.

Stop making me want to go even more.
I'm trying to attempt Italy and AST for my 30th. That gives me 3 years to plan it out.

Dude, we should totally go! If Joel and I haven't popped out a kid, we would totally be up for that.

We could hostel it up, get krunk, and run around in Europe! Whee! I am itching to go back SO bad, and there are things I didn't get to do when I was there last that I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do.

And since I've been to both of the places you want to go, I can help you plan knowing a thing or two.

For instance, the Sistine Chapel is closed on Sundays, so don't try to do the Vatican that day like we did! We didn't have time to go back and see it so we totally missed out!!!

And don't try to eat dinner in Trastvere [section of Rome] on a Saturday night. Worst service ever.

WE SHOULD SO DO THIS! YAY!

p.s. flying from Rome to Rotterdam and taking the train to Amsterdam is better than the train and cheaper. We got a flight for 49 Euros and then used our Eurorail passes for the train. Took about 5 hours or so total. We were there early enough to have a whole day out! YAY!
